Perhaps the only good thing to come out of the shocking death of young Trayvon Martin, is that tragedy oftentimes brings out the best in people. Sports are often about glitz and glamour, but famous athletes across the board are demanding that Trayvon Martin’s killer be brought to justice. The Miami Heat have posted a photo of them all wearing hoodies in tribute to Trayvon, and Mike Tyson has been tweeting all day about how this country must protect our children.

I don’t understand how anyone, regardless of race, can’t be horrified that a grown man gunned down a child execution-style in broad daylight and he hasn’t been arrested. This is something that’s supposed to happen in supposedly third-world countries, not in America. Well, guess again. I wear hoodies all the time. I would hate to be gunned down for walking around in one. I’m an asian female, but who knows, there are most likely some neighborhoods in America that have vitriolic dislike and distrust for asian females. I would hate to be gunned down just for walking around in one, just for being alive. People get arrested for smoking/distributing marijuana, and yet George Zimmerman can still be free for murdering a child.
RIP Trayvon, #JusticeForTrayvon.
