  • Tyrone Spong Vanquishes Remy Bonjasky From The Kickboxing Elite

With much joy, I report that Tyrone Spong KO’ed Remy Bonjasky in the second round with a right hook. I’ve long found Remy Bonjasky a boring *spoiler* type of fighter, one who isn’t exciting, but constantly wins with his boring, yawn-inducing style. While I admit he’s a good fighter, I’m happy to see that he no longer seems capable of winning big fights. After losing to fledgling Jamal Ben Saddik, Bonjasky has been knocked out by Tyrone Spong.

Hopefully, this is the end of Bonjasky’s career and he retires for good this time!

  • Remy Bonjasky Gets It On With Tyrone Spong On March 23rd!

Kickboxing has definitely been more exciting for the fans lately. Semmy Schilt recently won a major tournament, and now Glory is putting on another great main event. I consider this a passing-of-the-torch fight – if Spong can win this fight.

Tyrone Spong needs to step up and vanquish the older generation of kickboxers, so he can lead the way for the new generation to emerge. Plus, Bonjasky is a boring predictable fighter, so I would like to see him gone. He’s one of my least favorite kickboxers.

  • Remy Bonjasky Will Fight Tyrone Spong

As a kickboxing fan, I was excited to hear that Tyrone Spong and Remy Bonjasky will be fighting on February 16, 2013, under the Glory banner. With all the disappointments kickboxing has gone through lately, an exciting fight between two high-level and popular kickboxers is really needed.

This fight is especially intriguing, because at one time Remy Bonjasky was probably considered one of the top three kickboxers in the world. With his eye injury and short-lived retirement,Tyrone Spong will be a true test to see if Bonjasky is still at world-level. This will also be a test for Spong, who has recently stopped Peter Aerts. Spong has recently dabbled in MMA, but this fight will also show if he can eventually be a champion kickboxer, instead of a top contender.

  • Remy Bonjasky Thinks He Has Charisma – Ha Ha Ha

Remy Bonjasky is one the best kickboxers in recent time, but what he is not is charismatic. In an interview with BloodyElbow.com Bonjasky notes that while Semmy Schilt is still active, he lacks the charisma of an Ernesto Hoost or Peter Aerts.

In the charisma department, Remy Bonjasky has about as much charisma as Semmy Schilt. In my opinion, he was about as interesting to watch as paint drying. Schilt, on the other hand, at least had some exciting fights, most notably the ones that he lost against Badr Hari and Peter Aerts.

Bonjasky also mentions that he would fight Badr Hari again. Bonjasky just won a close decision against Anderson Braddock Silva. Bonjasky looks ok, but hardly a fighter that will light the kickboxing world on fire.

  • Remy Bonjasky Signs With Glory, Kickboxing Is Slowly Making a Comeback

Remy Bonjasky (pictured with girlfriend above) is 36-years old, but he is still most likely one of the best kickboxers in the world. Personally, I find him terribly boring to watch with his peek-a-boo style, but his style is undoubtedly hard to defeat. He has won many boring decisions over the best fighters in the world, including Badr Hari, Alistair Overeem, Errol Zimmerman, and Ernesto Hoost.

Now Remy has officially signed with Glory, and says that he’s ready to compete at the top-level of kickboxing.

Besides Remy’s return, Peter Aerts has an exciting fight coming up with Tyrone Spong. This is destined to be a fun fight to watch. Also, Semmy Schilt recently TKO’ed the surging Errol Zimmerman.

The new K1 has started holding events again, with the most recent re-launching the K1 World Grand Prix, kickboxing’s glamour event. So while kickboxing still has a long ways to go, the death toll that seemed to be ringing for kickboxing has grown dimmer. Badr Hari’s return to K1 is great news for the kickboxing world. He is one of the sport’s biggest stars, and they need all the stars they can get right now.

If kickboxing is able to produce even one or two more stars on the level of Badr Hari, I think they will have a brighter future ahead of them. Right now, Daniel Ghita and Errol Zimmerman seem like the most promising future kickboxing legends. Gokhan Saki might still hang around, and with Anderson Silva’s recent spirited performance against Badr Hari, he might eventually make some waves also.

All-in-all, there’s enough talent in kickboxing for many interesting match-ups to be made, and K1′s Grand Prix sounds like it’s going to be a entertaining spectacle. I look forward to watching it!

Hello, I'm the Boxing Blogger. I started watching boxing as a little girl, because of my father telling me stories about Muhammad Ali, who was his hero.
