  • Video Of Funny Press Conference Between Georges St. Pierre and Nick Diaz

This video of the media call between Georges St. Pierre and Nick Diaz made me laugh out loud. It’s hard to believe that Nick Diaz isn’t acting. If he isn’t, he might be the most unintentionally funny man in MMA.

  • Video of Nick Diaz Sparring Omar Henry

UFC fighter Nick Diaz has flirted with the idea of becoming a boxer for a while. He’s known for his striking skills in MMA, and has even gone as far to say that he could’ve been in the Super Six Tournament if he trained fulltime in boxing.

While Nick Diaz is one of my favorite MMA fighters, I’m not sure how well his striking style would translate to boxing. He doesn’t seem to have proper defense to me. He’s sparred with some boxers, the most notable being Andre Ward and Omar Henry.

The video below is interesting: Nick Diaz is giving Omar Henry a lot of respect in that ring. Henry is definitely taking Diaz to school, even if both are only doing some light sparring.

  • Georges St Pierre VS Nick Diaz, Not Really An Exciting Fight

Only a year ago, I would’ve been really psyched for this fight, but after Nick Diaz lost to Carlos Condit, and Georges St Pierre won decisively, this match has a foregone conclusion. I don’t think many people believe Nick Diaz has a chance of winning. While the build-up to the fight, and maybe even the match itself will be exciting, Diaz has little chance of winning. Diaz struggled with strong guys like St Pierre with a solid wrestling base. St Pierre, I bet, is going to do very little striking with Diaz, and mostly lay on top of him the entire fight. St Pierre has basically cleaned out his division, and he perhaps is close to retiring on top.

  • Nick Diaz Resurfaces, Blasts Georges St Pierre

Nick Diaz may be down, but he’s definitely not out, judging from a recent video of Nick Diaz blasting Georges St Pierre and Muay Thai Tiger fighters on youtube.

Unbelievably, enough, I sort of agree with Nick Diaz here, in the sense that he points out that Georges St Pierre “training” with Freddie Roach is more show than anything. I doubt that Pierre was doing any serious sparring with legit boxers that were throwing real punches at him while working with Roach.

However, me and Nick Diaz were both wrong in predicting that Carlos Condit would defeat GSP.

I do find it hilarious, though, how Nick Diaz manages to bring up boxers, particularly Floyd Mayweather, in any random conversation he’s having. I bet Diaz still thinks about becoming a pro boxer. He said that he thought he could have been a participant in the Super Six Super-Middleweight tournament with full-time training!

  • Nick Diaz Might Have The Worst Skin In MMA

First, let me say, that I’m a big Nick Diaz fan. I’ve been a Diaz fan since he first knocked out Robbie Lawler. I loved his Gogoplata win over Gomi, and followed his career as he roamed around the world fighting all comers. He has always been a Ronin-like figure to me.

However, it seems like in every fight he is always badly cut, scar tissue has formed around his eyes, and his face looks much older than his still young age. This, of course, could be the result of his fighting style, and his willingness to absorb blows on the face. But having good skin in fighting is an underrated asset to have. Anderson Silva seems to have great skin – I’ve never seen him cut or really even swelling or bruised. BJ Penn also seems to have snakeskin, except for his fight against Nick Diaz, he also rarely seems to cut.

Diaz actually lost a fight to KJ Noons because of the cuts he received. He’s now supposedly retired, but I hope one day he returns.

Hello, I'm the Boxing Blogger. I started watching boxing as a little girl, because of my father telling me stories about Muhammad Ali, who was his hero. I have watched the sweet science ever since, but recently decided to write about it. Thanks for visiting! Please COMMENT, I love hearing from readers!
