  • Mark Hunt VS Junior Dos Santos Is An Intriguing Matchup

Dana White once said that Mark Hunt was in no way ready for someone like Junior Dos Santos. And while Junior Dos Santos is still the heavy favorite, enough has changed that this matchup is intriguing.

Mark Hunt has resurrected an abysmal career in MMA to be on a winning streak, the last one knocking out Stefan Struve. Meanwhile, Junior Dos Santos was dominated by a surging Cain Velasquez and has recently gone through a divorce.

On paper, Junior Dos Santos should still win this bout, as he has all the physical advantages. But Mark Hunt should make this fight interesting. And, if he somehow does manage to win, he could eventually even challenge for the UFC title, which would be truly amazing.

  • Mark Hunt Knocks Out Stefan Struve!

Anytime a man is able to KO a much younger and taller man its impressive. In this case, Super-Samoan Mark Hunt has proven that he’s truly Super-Samoan by KO’ing the seven-foot Stefan Struve. I really thought that Struve was going to win.

Mark Hunt keeps proving me wrong, and Struve continues to be an under-achiever, despite all his natural gifts.

  • Dana White Says NO Mark Hunt Will Not Fight Junior Dos Santos

Well it appears that the curious internet phenomenon known as #rallyformarkhunt has reached its conclusion. Dana White has made very clear, that Super Samoan Mark Hunt will NOT be fighting Junior Dos Santos for the UFC heavyweight title. It’s obvious that Dana White is hoping that somehow Alistair Overeem will get sanctioned to fight, and he can keep Mark Hunt in the UFC attic, hidden away.

Mark Hunt is like the UFC’s red-headed stepchild, who somehow is still around. However, Dana White did at least give good reasoning behind why Mark Hunt won’t be give the shot. He says that putting Hunt against Junior Dos Santos would be like throwing him to the wolves at this point. While I see Dana’s point, Mark Hunt has fought everyone from Fedor Emelianko to Jerome Le Banner, I doubt that Junior Dos Santos could do much to surprise Mark Hunt at this point. Still, it’s nice to see fans rally around Hunt, who really deserves it. He is a true veteran of K1, Pride, and now the UFC. He deserves the fan’s respect, even though he probably will never be UFC champion.

  • Mark Hunt VS Jerome Le Banner in Fantastically Brutal Kickboxing Match

It’s easy to forget what a monster Mark Hunt was before he went on his epic losing streak when switching over to MMA. But in this first match with Jerome Le Banner, Mark Hunt proved his unbelievable toughness, genuine striking power, and heart, in one of the most brutal kickboxing matches I’ve ever seen. Jerome Le Banner kicks like he’s trying to move the earth itself. I can’t even imagine what it must feel like to be kicked by Jerome Le Banner.

Mark Hunt is always impressive to me, because he’s always fighting taller opponents, with a very soft physique, but he manages to hang with anyone they put in front of him. Even now, while competing in the UFC, Mark Hunt is still able to be very competitive at the advanced age of 37 years old!

  • Mark Hunt AWESOME Interview After Beating Up Cheick Kongo!

Mark Hunt gives the best interviews! Mark “Super Samoan” Hunt is the best! After beating Kongo, he wants to fight in two weeks! Go Mark Hunt!!!!!!

  • Once the Forgotten Man, Super Samoan Mark Hunt Has Made An Unlikely Comeback in the UFC

Mark Hunt vs Ben Rothwell was a UFC fight that I didn’t expect to find entertaining. The only reason I watched, was because I had thought Mark Hunt was a kickboxer and not a MMA fighter, and was curious to see how he would perform. Last I heard of the tubby Samoan was that he was viciously knocked out by the much smaller Melvin Manhoef.

Little did I know that by the end I would be a new fan of Mark Hunt. I think it was watching him defy the odds by going for an unlikely armbar on Rothwell, and somehow out-striking and backing down the exhausted Ben Rothwell in the third round to win the decision. Granted, Ben Rothwell looked terrible, but I had thought previously there was no way that Mark Hunt would ever win any matches in the UFC.

The only reason he was fighting in the UFC, because he had an iron-clad contract with Pride, and UFC couldn’t cut him. Mark Hunt, himself, is a soft-spoken man who has always had a body that looked more suited to drinking beer than fighting. I think that’s why I like him. He is someone that the UFC obviously didn’t think had anything left, but he proved them wrong.

So imagine my delight when Mark Hunt was able to knock-out Cheick Kongo, the man who looks like an African god. Comparatively, on looks alone, there was no way that Mark Hunt could win. But he was able to knock-out Kongo and continue his Cinderella story. I’m not sure it can go much farther, but already it shows that an old dog CAN learn new tricks. To be a K1 mainstay and somehow transition to the foreign world of MMA shows that Mark Hunt has a lot more talent than I or anyone else gave him credit for. Look at him! He’s 100% Samoan!
