Since I blogged about this in another post, I felt it was my duty to report also that Jermain Taylor has been cleared of rape charges. The woman who accused him has recanted her allegations and has said that she lied about him raping her.

On a personal note, I think it’s absolutely terrible when women falsely accuse a man of rape. It’s a heinous crime, and it’s something that will ruin a person’s life forever. I think women who lie about these things, need to face more serious consequences for false accusations. There are women out there, every day, who are getting sexually and physically abused, and these false charges detract from the women who really do need assistance.

Jermain Taylor never struck me as a rapist or abuser, unlike FLOYD MAYWEATHER, so I’m glad that he’s been cleared. Now he has to deal with his wife, lol, which might be scarier than dealing with the cops!

Boxingscene.com reports that middleweight Jermain Taylor is being investigated on rape charges. I want to stress that he has NOT been charged with anything yet, and I’m thinking that eventually he will be cleared. Unfortunately, then he still has to deal with the fall-out with his wife Erica, pictured below. Even if he didn’t commit rape, he most likely still committed adultery.

Supposedly, he was going to meet with a woman to pay her for sex at a hotel room. They got into some sort of altercation and she claims that she was raped. Now, as much as I think it’s my duty to always stick up for women, I have a feeling that he didn’t rape her. If he was paying her to have sex, then it wasn’t like there wasn’t an understanding of what they were there to do. It was probably a dispute over money, and she angrily decided to go to the police to get revenge, because maybe Taylor is a cheapskate or refused to pay her.

Either way, after Jermain Taylor’s lackluster performance against Caleb Traux, and now these rape charges, the Jermain Taylor that once ruled the middleweight division is definitely in the past. I wish him and his wife the best, because it’s obvious that Erica Taylor really loved her husband. I still remember how sad she looked when Taylor was so horribly knocked out by Arthur Abraham.
