  • Anderson Silva VS Stephan Bonnar May Be The Worst UFC Main Event Of All Times

I don’t think I’m exaggerating either. When I first read the headline that these two would be facing each other, I thought it had be a mistake – a joke headline.

But, alas, it was true. The UFC seems to have really lost its way. I haven’t been actively interested in the UFC for at least a year. All the big fights that I’ve wanted to see have either been cancelled or just never put together.

Instead, what the fans are left with, are hamburger helper match-ups, fights that are hastily put together when the original fight falls through.

There seem to be so few big-money match-ups left in the UFC, that what we’re left with is Anderson Silva vs Stephan Bonnar. I can’t remember the last time Bonnar won a fight of any relevance. He was manhandled by Rashad Evans and lost to Forrest Griffin, if that tells you anything.

The UFC really needs to get its sh*t together, because it’s in danger of losing a lot of its relevancy. MMA is such a young sport as it is, and it seems to be lacking potential stars and big-money fights.

  • Anderson Silva Says A Lot Of People Thought He was Gay, LOL

Anderson Silva says in an interview with Tatame, that growing up people thought he was gay. He has the Mike Tyson unusually high-pitched voice, and his sisters used to dress him up in women’s clothes (????).

He also said that he was vain about his appearance.

Despite that, he’s been married for fifteen years and has a bunch of kids. Realistically, whether Silva is gay or straight, he is the best fighter in the world. I think it’s admirable that he’s so frank about his history. Hopefully, this will lead the way to MMA becoming more open to fighters with different sexual orientations. I’m POSITIVE that they are out there, just not comfortable yet being open about it.

  • Anderson Silva Has A Beautiful Wife And Is Still Middleweight Champion

Life for Anderson Silva must be good right now. He recently vanquished the annoying Chael Sonnen from his life in emphatic fashion, and is sitting atop the tumultuous world of MMA. He also has a beautiful wife who he has a gaggle of kids with. Now if only he would face Jon Jones…

  • Anderson Silva Stops Chael Sonnen In Second Round Via Strikes

Anderson Silva did in the second round what I expected him to do in his first fight with Chael Sonnen, which was stop Chael Sonnen via strikes. After being taken down by Sonnen throughout the first round, eventually Silva’s vastly superior striking made the difference, and he beat Sonnen into submission in the second round.

To Sonnen’s credit, I do think he made the build-up to this fight entertaining by antagonizing the child-like Silva repeatedly. Anderson Silva has always struck me as an idiot savant type character, with his almost jedi-like striking skills, yet refusal to speak english and bizarre ring behavior.

But now that Fedor Emelianko has officially retired, Anderson Silva is the undisputed pound-for-pound KING of MMA. Who’s left for Anderson Silva? I believe the only feasible matchup left for him is Jon Jones. Unfortunately, Anderson Silva has made it clear that he believes that he would be outmatched by the larger Jon Jones and refuses to take the fight.

I secretly wish that Anderson Silva would retire from MMA and fight Roy Jones Jr in a boxing match. As a novelty fight, I feel like that would be a supremely entertaining event!

  • Anderson Silva Really Hates Chael Sonnen And They Have An Intense Staredown

Out of all the opponents that Anderson Silva has faced in his lengthy career, it appears to me that Chael Sonnen is the only one that he truly dislikes. Sonnen, a cocky conservative loudmouth from Portland, Oregon has purposely tried to antagonize Silva as much as possible in hopes for a re-match. I’m looking forward to their re-match, and I want to see if Silva can redeem his poor performance in their last match. Because, realistically, Chael Sonnen made Anderson Silva look very beatable, perhaps the only man to do so since Silva knocked out Rich Franklin twice in a row.

  • Anderson Silva As A Kickboxer

Once upon a time, before Anderson Silva became one of the best MMA fighters in the world, he was a kickboxer. This video gives an interesting glimpse at Anderson Silva in his formative years. I believe that he could’ve been a pretty good kickboxer had he stuck with it. I’m not even sure what veered him towards MMA, since his strength is his stand-up game. Silva’s chin is also greatly under-rated. No one really talks about it, but I’ve seen him take some stiff shots and barely even seem phased. Although he says that he will never fight Jon Jones, I still think he has a better chance than anyone else to defeating Jon Jones.

Hello, I'm the Boxing Blogger. I started watching boxing as a little girl, because of my father telling me stories about Muhammad Ali, who was his hero.
