Ronda Rousey Set to Face Sarah Kaufman For Strikeforce Title

Strikeforce champion Ronda Rousey is scheduled to face Sarah Kaufman next in a grappler vs striker matchup. Hopefully, Sarah Kaufman will push Ronda past the first round, and learned something from Miesha Tates’s fight with Rousey.

As shown by the opening round, Ronda Rousey is very susceptible to strikes. If Tate had been a stronger striker, and not bum-rushed Rousey I believe the match could’ve been very different. Kaufman needs to use her striking and stay out-of-range of getting taken down by Rousey. As talented as I think Rousey is, her striking and chin still leave big question marks. She can get away with this in the women’s division, but Kaufman has the tools to test this eventually with the right gameplan. Sarah’s only loss has been to Marloes Coenen.

I still believe that Ronda Rousey will win via armbar, but this has a potential to be an entertaining fight. I consider Rousey’s fight with Tate the most entertaining female MMA bout I’ve ever seen.

However, the only women I see legitimately being able to beat Rousey is Cristiane ‘Cyborg’ Santos. Santos has the powerhouse striking and size to stop Rousey. I can’t wait until she returns!
