With K1′s latest re-invention, a new event will be held in Madrid in May. With kickboxing going through some tough times, they’ve put together a decent roster of heavyweights:
Mirko Cro Cop (Croatia)
Daniel Ghita (Romania)
Anderson “Braddock” Silva (Brazil)
Paul Slowinski (Poland/Australia)
Rico Verhoeven (Netherlands)
Loren Javier Jorge (Spain)
Sergei Lascenko (Ukraine)
While Daniel Ghita sounds like the most exciting participant at the moment, K1 says there will be BIG news about who the eight competitor will be. Although I think that guy could be Peter Aerts, or someone like him, it would be exciting if they somehow got Badr Hari to compete again. I doubt that, though. Still, as a longtime fan of K1, I’m thrilled that the company has resurrected itself again. I grew up watching K1, and I would hate to see it disappear forever.
