Jon Jones has quickly become a hated man in the MMA world. I find this slightly amusing, because I’ve always disliked him, but thought I would be the only one. I guess a lot of people don’t like him now!

Despite my personal dislike towards Jon Jones, I have to admit other than Anderson Silva, I consider him the best fighter in the UFC. And, unlike Anderson Silva, he still has a tremendous upside. We have yet to see just how good he can get. His youth, his natural physical gifts, his victories over Rampage Jackson, Lyoto Machida, Ryan Bader, all very impressive.

Priscilla Belfort, RIP lady

In contrast, while Vitor Belfort definitely has the fan’s support, and a wife that MMA fans dream about, his history has been spotty. One might even say that at times he’s been exposed. He was a phenom when first starting out, absolutely destroying Wanderlei Silva, before being TKO’ed by the crafty Randy Couture. He’s had to deal with the kidnapping and death of his sister, Priscilla, over a drug debt. And now, most recently, a brutal KO loss to Anderson Silva.

The sentimental favorite is Vitor Belfort, but I think he has a slim-to-none chance of defeating Jon Jones. I believe that the only chance Vitor has of winning is by knocking out Jon Jones. He’s not going to be able to win in any other way. He’s not going to submit Jones, and he won’t able to outpoint him.

I have been surprised and pleased by the amount of traffic my lil’ ol’ blog has generated in the past couple months. I started this blog on a whim at the end of January 2012, and was getting perhaps 15 visitors a day if I was lucky. Now around six months later, I have gotten as many as 5,000 page views a day generated through search engines and average between 800-1000 page views a day.

I am very happy and surprised by this. In an effort to maintain the traffic and even generate more, for the next few months I will try to post once a day! This way, readers will know that they can come to my blog to get a consistent news source on MMA, kickboxing, and boxing. While I may not have the time and resources to provide as much comprehensive coverage as other sites, what I can provide is my honest commentary and analysis.

I write – and will always – post on this blog only because I’m a genuine fan of combat sports, and for no other reason.
