50 Cent Is Now A Boxing Promoter

Mediocre rapper, but savvy businessman, Fifty Cent is now officially a boxing promoter. Long associated with Floyd Mayweather, Fifty Cent has now gotten his license and has already signed two big names in boxing: Yuriorkis Gamboa and Andre Dirrell.

This is fairly big news, because Fifty Cent is pretty wealthy, having made money not only off his boxing career, but with investing in the popular beverage line Vitamin Water. It’ll be interesting to see how far he gets and how long he’ll actually be a boxing promoter. Gamboa has already been acknowledged as a prodigiously talented boxer, and Andre Dirrell has a lot of potential for career advancement in the stacked super-middleweight division. I truly believe that Dirrell beat Carl Froch in their closely contested Super Six bout. Dirrell, actually, is a favorite of mine, despite his mental breakdowns and emotional inconsistencies.
